TD Discovery Day in Health Sciences
Event Date: May 16, 2018

An insightful and fun hands-on workshop for students in grades 10 through 12, interested in a career in health science and technology. This full day event held at McMaster University Student Learning Centre, in Hamilton, is an exciting opportunity for students, from across the province, to explore careers in medicine and health sciences.  Students will benefit from an inspiring keynote lecture, two hands-on-workshops of their choosing, and an interactive laboratory experiment demonstration.

More information on the event, including an agenda and sample list of workshops can be found on their website at http://www.cdnmedhall.org/hhsc.

If you are interested in attending this event, you must submit a short (approximately 200 words) summary describing why you would like to attend.  Each school is initially allowed to register two students. More spots may open up after the first round of registrations has closed.

All applications must be emailed to Mrs. Tummon (tummonh@hdsb.ca) by 8am on Thursday March 29th. Two students will be selected to attend and additional students will be selected if spots become available.  Mrs. Tummon will confirm via email once your submission has been received. If you do not receive a confirmation, your application has not been submitted.  The two selected students will be notified by the end of the day on March 29th.

Please note:  There is no cost to attend, however students must provide their own transportation to and from the event.  Although arranged through OTHS, there will NOT be teacher supervisor at the event.
